July 08

Principal Felicia Bessent and teachers Louie Corpuz, Autumn Nguyen, James Ponder and Lonnie Villalobos spent five days at NASA's Ames Research Center learning about being a NASA Explorer School and developing activities to use at Edward Harris Jr. Middle School.

The first activity was to develop a mission patch to symbolize our goals and aspirations as an NES. Our patch shows the Earth as our home with our knowledge of reading, writing, math, science and the arts as our key to reaching the stars.

Throughout the week, we spent our days on activities and tours and our evenings setting goals for the school and developing a strategic plan. It was an amazing week; the NASA folks are all great and we're looking forward to working with them.
